Obituary for Philomena C. Brancato (Toscano)
Philomena C. (Toscano) Brancato, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away gently with family by her side on Monday afternoon, February 12, 2018. She was 102 years old.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Peter J. Brancato and son Joseph P. Brancato; parents, Frank and Maria Toscano; four brothers, Joseph, Albert “Buddy”, Nunzio and Patrick Toscano; and two sisters, Adeline Parzych and Eleanor Toscano.
Philomena leaves a sister-in-law Marie Toscano; her daughter Marilyn R. Maine and husband Chuck, and daughter-in-law Doreen Brancato, all of Westerly; five grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
A lifelong resident of Westerly, Philomena was a devout communicant of Immaculate Conception Church for over 50 years, a member of the Calabrese Women’s Auxiliary and an accomplished cook and baker.
Relatives and friends will be received by family on Thursday from 5-7pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Funeral Mass and Burial will be private. For online condolences please visit www.gaffneydolanfuneralhome.com
