Joseph J. Faitani, of Westerly, passed away at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the age of 91.

Born in Westerly, he was one of seven children born to the late John and Angeline Faitani.

Joseph served in the US Army Air Force and then went on to earn a Master’s Degree. He was employed as an Engineer for Pratt & Whitney for thirty years until his retirement in 1984.

He was a life member of the Elks, a member of the Westerly Yacht Club, and Westerly Senior Citizens Association.

He was predeceased by his three brothers, Lawrence and John Faitani and Enrico Rescigno and three sisters, Julia Longo, Clara Blennau and Elvira Belbruno. Joseph is survived by two nephews, Gary Rescigno of Port Charlotte Fl and John Belbruno of Naples Fl; six nieces, Lynda Schuster of Mystic Ct, Gail Smith of Pawcatuct Ct, Debra Peterson of Irrmo SC, Marina Cawley of Tampa Fl, Theresse Graham of Waterford Ct and Gail Faitani of Bristol Ct; and many great nieces and nephews.
