Obituary for Virginia A. Anderson (Mitchell)
Virginia A. (Mitchell) Anderson, 88, of Liberty St., Pawcatuck, passed away at her home on Friday, August 18, 2017. She was the wife of the late Alfred E. Anderson.
Born in Westerly, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Mitchell.
Virginia worked as a secretary for the US Sub Base in the early 90’s for many years. She was a communicant of St. Michael Church who enjoyed traveling with her husband in her retirement.
Virginia is survived by eight nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Angelo, Paul, Sr. and Peter; and three sisters, Mary Padula and Josephine and Rosalie Mitchell.
A Funeral Liturgy will take place on Tuesday at 12 Noon at St. Mary’s Church, 95 Main St., Stonington. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Pawcatuck. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Michael Capital Campaign, 60 Liberty St., Pawcatuck, CT 06379 or Hospice Care of SE CT, 227 Dunham St., Norwich, CT 06360 in Virginia’s memory.
