Obituary for Irene M. Grennan (Madore)
Irene M. (Madore) Grennan, 88, beloved wife of William J. Grennan, of Coastal Court, Westerly, passed away at Apple Rehab Watch Hill on Tuesday, January 10, 2017.
Born in Van Buren, Maine, she was a daughter of the late Abel and Mattie Madore.
Irene worked in Medical Records for Bristol Hospital for many years until her retirement in 1988.
In addition to her husband, she leaves three children, Mark Grennan and his wife Nina of Climax, NY, David Grennan and his wife Beverly of Brooklyn, CT, and Lisa Topa and her husband Daniel of Charlestown. Irene is also survived by four sisters, Marie Hayden of Rehoboth, DE, Patricia Fradatte of Bristol, CT, Lorraine Morrisroe of Grand Prairie, TX and Florence Octagon of Bluffton, SC; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother Gilmont Madore.
Visiting hours are omitted. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. James Chapel, Charlestown on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017 at 10am. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. James Chapel, 2079 Matunuck School House Rd., Charlestown, RI 02813 or to the Intensive Educational Academy Inc., 840 North Main St., West Hartford, CT 06117 in Irene’s memory.
