Susan E. (Scira) Whitney, 84, of Juniper Drive in Ashaway, passed away at her home on Sunday, January 8th, 2017. She was the wife of the late William R. Whitney.
Born in Pawcatuck, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Domenica Scira.
Susan was employed as a Graphic Design Clerk at Electric Boat in Groton for many years and then worked for The Frank A. Olean Center in Westerly. She especially enjoyed baking and crocheting, for which she will be dearly remembered.
She leaves her two children, William R. Whitney, Jr. and Michelle Algiere and her husband John, all of Ashaway; and a grandson Dr. Benjamin Algiere of Wyoming, RI. Susan was predeceased by a granddaughter Whitney Algiere.
Visiting hours are omitted. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at 10:30am on Thursday, Jan. 12 at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Committal Center, 301 So. County Trail, Exeter. Attendees are asked to arrive outside the Main Office building15 minutes prior to the service.
