Obituary for John A. MacDonald
John A. MacDonald, 75, of Westerly, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023.
Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late Lemuel and Margaret MacDonald.
John worked as a machine operator for Imperial Wallcoverings for many years, where he advocated for employee rights as a union member. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1966-1970.
He enjoyed spending time with family in Prince Edward Island, Canada. An avid reader and lover of history, John was known as the family videographer and captured countless hours of treasured memories that will be enjoyed for years.
John was predeceased by his brothers, Thomas MacDonald and Bruce MacDonald, and is survived by his sisters-in-law, Nancy MacDonald of Charlestown and Gail MacDonald of New London, CT. He was the beloved uncle of Amber, Emily, and Brianna MacDonald; Shannon Jordan, and Cara Brennan.
Friends and family are invited to a Funeral Service with Full Military Honors at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 So. County Trail, Exeter at 11:30a.m. on Monday, March 27.
