Obituary for Thomas Caldwell Cook
Thomas Caldwell Cook, beloved father and grandfather, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at the age of 79. He was the loving husband to his wife of 53 years, the late Janet (Holly) Cook.
Tom was born in Westerly to the late Caldwell and Violet Cook.
Tom was a US Navy veteran. He was employed as a telephone company engineer for Southern New England Telephone Company and later AT&T and Verizon. He was also a communicant of St. Michael Church. Tom enjoyed gardening, tennis, racquetball, skiing, scuba-diving and (his love) the card game, Hearts.
He is survived by his children, Holly Eaves and husband Spencer of Charlestown and Ronald Cook and wife Cheryl of Old Saybrook. Tom was predeceased by his son Mark and is survived by Mark’s wife Rebecca Cook of Pawcatuck. He also leaves his grandchildren, Janna Rathert of Somerville, MA, Myles Eaves of Malden, MA, Aliyah and Skylah Cook both of Pawcatuck, and Hennessey, Emersen, and Parker Cook all of Old Saybrook.
Visiting hours are omitted. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at St. Michael’s Church, 60 Liberty Street, Pawcatuck at 11:30a.m. on Friday, January 13. Burial is private. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly is in charge of the arrangements.
