Obituary for Richard Lee DeMars
Richard Lee DeMars, beloved father to Rachel DeMars Pantermehl and her husband Luke, and extraordinary ‘Papa’ to Paisley Rae and Parker Richard, passed away on Friday, November 25 2022 at the age of 65.
He was born to the late Frances DeMars Shea and James DeMars in Providence, RI.
Bonnie, Jim, and Paul (Lisa) will remember their brother for his passion and continuous support throughout the years. Rick is now in the company of his mother and his brothers, Barrie and Ted.
Rick served as a respected colleague at Taco, Inc since 1987 culminating with his position as International Sales Manager. He valued this company and will be remembered for his collegiality, expertise, and quick wit.
He is a Navy veteran and a graduate of Smithfield High School.
Nieces and nephews, Justin, Stacy, Daniel, Meghan, Joseph, Cadence, and Francesca will miss Uncle Rick: his gruff exterior and his softer inside, his stories, fondness for unique toys, and memorable Christmas Eves.
Rick, we thank you for your generous spirit; the special love for your precious babies: Rachel, Paisley and Parker; for prolific sunrise and sunset photos as you walked your much loved ‘little mans’ Riley along the Westerly coast. We remember your laugh, love of reading attributed to Mom, appreciation of a good joke, and passion for the Steelers.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 30 from 4-7pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Funeral service will be 11am on Thursday in the funeral home.
