Obituary for Tamaralynn AnnaMarie Newman (Lapinski)
Tamaralynn AnnaMarie Newman, 61, lifelong resident of Westerly, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 5:55a.m. at the Westerly Hospital surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her husband of 29 loving years of marriage, John W. Newman; and by her two daughters, Rachel Afferback and husband William of Jewett City, CT and Amy Lee and fiancée Lindsay Harford of Brewer, ME. Tamaralynn absolutely adored her grandchildren, Carter, Gianna and Cyrus, all of Jewett City. In addition, she leaves her parents, Edward Lapinski and his wife Janice of Hudson, FL and Elaine Sholes and her husband Al of Oakdale, CT. The oldest of four children, she also leaves her sister Shelly Briscoe of Groton, CT; and two brothers, Edward Lapinski of Oakdale, CT and Eric Lapinski of Pittsford, NY. She will be missed by her many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Tamaralynn was known for her love of the ocean and could be found at the beaches collecting shells or just watching the waves crash onto the shore. She could also be found down on her boat where she loved to take sunset rides or just relax on the deck.
She cherished spending holidays with her family and seeing the joy in her grandchildren’s faces. Even in the
off-season, her home was always decorated with her amazing collection of Santas from around the world.
She loved time spent at home where she could be found jamming out while her husband played the drums or sang. She was also known for her joy of cooking, classic cars, crafting and watching the races or her favorite sports team play. Tamaralynn will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visiting hours will be held at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly on Friday from 11am – 12noon, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 12 noon in the funeral home. Burial will be private. For online condolences please visit www.gaffneydolanfuneralhome.com
