Obituary for Janet B. Longo (Barden)
Janet (Barden) Longo, 89, of Pawcatuck, passed away in hospice care at the Westerly Hospital on Monday, November 7, 2022. She was the wife of the late Salvatore “Sam” Longo.
Born in Southwick, MA, Janet was the last surviving child of the late Wilbur and Eleanor Barden.
Janet volunteered her time at the Westerly Hospital, the Westerly Adult Day Care Center and St. Michael’s Library. She had also been a Cub Scout Den Mother for Pack 9 in Pawcatuck.
She leaves behind two children, Michael J. Longo (Kelly) of Mystic and Barbara Longo of Seattle, WA. Janet was predeceased by her son Ron.
A graveside Funeral Service will be held at St Michael's Cemetery, Stillman Ave., Ext., Pawcatuck, on Thursday, November 10th at 11am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Stand Up For Animals (SUFA) in Janet’s memory. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly is in charge of the arrangements.
