Obituary for Patricia Elizabeth Harrison (Patnoad)

Patricia Elizabeth (Patnoad) Harrison, 86, of Ashaway, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sun., June 6, 2021. Born in Westerly to the late Joseph and Catherine Patnoad, Patricia graduated Westerly High School. She was the wife of the late Gordon P. Harrison, Sr.

Patricia worked at Stanley Bostitch Manuf. Co., and for her family’s restaurant, The Lantern Glow, then owned and operated The Village Sandwich Shoppe.

In addition to her beloved parents and husband, she was predeceased by her young son, Gordon “Chipper” Harrison, Jr.; infant great-granddaughter Magnolia Harper; and her brother Michael Patnoad.

A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, she leaves a large and loving family who adored spending time with her. She is survived by four daughters: Elizabeth Cook-Martin and her spouse, Michael of Burdickville; Dawn Harrison and her spouse, David of Bradford; Deana Manfredi and her spouse, Dana of Berwick, ME; and Tracy Anderson of Ashaway; as well as her sister Joanne Johnsen, and brother Frank Patnoad.

Patricia’s pride and joy were her ten grandchildren, fifteenth great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Her expanded family of many special lifelong friends, included the Merritt family, and those with whom she spent time and made memories at her two seasonal homes in Otisfield, ME, and Venice, FL. Patricia enjoyed the beach, playing cribbage, and attending sports and family events.

Visiting Hours will be held on Tues., June 15 from 4 – 7 p.m. at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Funeral Service will be held on Wed., June 16 at 11 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 7 Elm St., Westerly. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to causes near and dear to her heart: 1) The Jimmy Fund and/or; 2) Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital BBCH Bereavement Fund.
