Obituary for Norma Jean Blair

Norma Jean Olson Blair, 95, died peacefully at the Apple Rehab Clipper in Westerly, RI on Saturday April 24, 2021. Hospice was caring for her the last few weeks which was very comforting to her and her family. We want to recognize and thank them for their kindness. Also, we would like to thank all the devoted nurses, aides, and everyone who took care of our beloved mother at the Apple Rehab Clipper.

She worked and lived in Bristol, CT until marrying the late Edward Olson in 1947 with whom she had her children. Their marriage ended in 1970 and soon after she met her future husband Harold Blair whom she married in 1976. They had a lasting marriage and created many memories with their ever-present family until Harold’s death on October 5, 2020.

Norma leaves her children Jeffrey Olson of Torrington, CT, Christine Olson of Hopkinton, RI, and Judith Olson Champagne and her husband Thomas of Westerly, RI; Her grandchildren Gina Olson, Christopher Champagne and his wife Julie, Matthew Champagne, David Olson, and Erica Helterline; her great grandchildren Sky Trapella, Haley Trapella, Gavin Champagne, and Elliot Champagne. She is predeceased by her son Richard Olson and granddaughter Sarah Helterline. Her family also includes Raylene Olson, Carole Turner, Tommy O’Conner, and the late Anne Olson. We also want to remember all her countless friends whom impacted her life wonderfully.

To those who knew her, her life was well lived and her 95 years have too many adventures and tales to tell. To say the least she was so kind, loving, thoughtful, gracious, optimistic, and most importantly faithful. Her faith was her determination.

The family knows her life was well lived and are grateful she has begun her journey with the Lord!

A private memorial service will be held for their beloved Norma and Harold with the family on Saturday May 22nd. Saying a prayer on their behalf would be very comforting.

God Bless us all!
