Obituary for Holly Kathleen Harris (Spears)

Holly Kathleen Harris, 77, beloved wife of Leonard John Harris of Post Road, Charlestown, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, July 8, 2019.
She danced across the sky on a southwest wind, twirling a blanket woven with the love, prayers and the well wishes of her family. The energy of her love and continuation was palpable, indestructible, everlasting. It glitters in the sky, atop the waters and in the eyes of her family.

Born in Westerly, she was the daughter of the late Russell G. Spears, Sr. and Grace Spears. Holly was a proud Niantic - Narragansett and continued the traditions passed down by her mother to feed anyone in need, filling everyone up with her love.

Holly worked to provide for her family in and out of the home, creating a home that was a beacon of love, open and welcoming to everyone. Holly was a champion card player, enjoying games of pitch and forty-five. Holly was also a master at crossword puzzles. Holly served and was a veteran of the US Army.

In addition to her husband she leaves five children, Honey Collins, Hayley Harris, Thawn Sherenté Harris and wife Eleanor, Hunter Harris and wife Carla, and Hombré Harris and wife Julie; and fourteen grandchildren; Stallion Collins, Lynsea Montanari, Sherenté Harris, Nkéke Harris, Bam Sampson, Peshawee Sampson, Askaski Sampson, Pummukau Harris, Menuhki Harris, Yoyatche Harris, Adchaeu Harris, Nepauz Harris, Mishanogqus Harris, and Mashisha Harris. Holly also leaves eight siblings, Diana Mars, Robin Spears, Sr., Starr Mars, Forest Spears, Sr., Melody Amado, Lake Spears, Sr., Autumn-leaf Spears and Sky Spears; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Leonard John “Bam” Harris, Jr.; and three siblings, Russell G. Spears, Jr., Lance Spears and Craig Spears.
