Obituary for Ralph A. Craig Jr.

Ralph A. Craig, Jr., beloved husband of M. Catherine (Grainger) Craig, of Narrow Lane, Charlestown, passed away at South County Hospital on Monday, October 8, 2018 at the age of 68.

Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late Ralph A., Sr. and M. Elizabeth (Kenyon) Craig.
Ralph worked as a Truck Driver with RI CAN in Charlestown, picking up donated food and was dedicated to their mission of providing food to those in need. He was also formerly employed at E.B. and at Direcktor Shipyard where he served as union secretary for the United Steelworkers of America. In addition, he delivered newspapers for both The Westerly Sun and the Providence Journal Bulletin. He was a master councilor for DeMolay International, a youth organization for young men. Ralph loved music and was a drummer, he was a passionate Red Sox fan and was known for his eccentric and playful personality as well as his creative storytelling, which he truly enjoyed. Ralph had many friends, but was most proud of and loved his children and grandchildren immensely.

Besides his wife Catherine, he leaves three children, Christopher A. Craig of Charlestown, Caitlin A. Rogers and husband Ben of Cranston and Bonnie E. Craig of N. Stonington; three grandchildren, Theodore Rogers, Josephine Rogers and Margo Rogers; and many nieces and nephews. Ralph was predeceased by two sisters, Rosalie Craig and Sharon Beauchemin.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, October 13th at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Burial will be private.
