Margaret (Carey) Harvey of Winnapaug Road, Westerly, passed away at Royal Westerly Nursing Home on July 11, 2018 at the age of 91. She was the wife of the late Roger N. “Slim” Harvey.

Born in Westerly, she was the daughter of the late Daniel J. and Jane Carey.

Margaret worked as an office clerk for the George C. Moore Company and was a communicant of St. Clare Church. She enjoyed knitting, reading and birdwatching however she loved spending time with family the most. She will be remembered dearly as someone who did anything to help anyone in need.

She leaves behind her two children, Roger E. Harvey of Charlestown and Denise E. Rose of Stonington; a brother John “Tippy” Carey of Westerly and three sisters, Claire Sexton of Westerly and Elizabeth Tillinghast and Patricia Dessaules, both of Pawcatuck; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Duane C. Harvey; three sisters, Jane Carey, Kathleen Taylor and Maureen Moscaritolo; and a brother Daniel Carey.

Visiting hours are omitted. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10am at St. Clare Church, 62 Crandall Avenue, Westerly. Burial will follow at River Bend Cemetery, Westerly.
