Obituary for Philomena A. Neill (Redmond)
Philomena A. (Redmond) Neill, formerly of High St., Ashaway, passed away quietly and peacefully during the early hours of Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Apple Rehab Watch Hill at the age of 88. She was the wife of the late Henry George Deverell Neill.
Born in Dublin, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Sarah (Dolan) Redmond.
Philomena worked as a L.P.N. nurse for Kent County Hospital and then Stonington Institute for many years until her retirement. She was an active member of the Chariho Southern Baptist Church.
She leaves behind her four children, Morag A. Cronkite of Charlestown, William R. Neill and companion Kathy Theiss of Ashaway, Fiona J. and Rick LaFountain of Pawcatuck, and Colin M. and Tami Neill of Richmond; six grandchildren Monica, Lisa, Zackery, Adam, Frederick and Abby, 4 step-grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Bruce Cronkite and her sister Sarah Redmond.
Visiting hours are omitted. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at Chariho Southern Baptist Church, 80 Alton Bradford Rd., Bradford, RI on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11:00 am. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. The family requests that any contributions in Philomena’s memory be made to Chariho Southern Baptist Church or Hope Hospice of Rhode Island.
